“How to prepare your SEO for Google Bard”
Welcome to our Google Bard SEO series. The world of SEO is constantly evolving, and keeping up with the latest changes can be a challenge. That’s why we’ve set up this unique SEO series that focuses on the newest (upcoming) changes in SEO, with a specific focus on Google, which has the largest search market share. While our insights will primarily be focused on Google, they may also be applicable to Microsoft’s Bing AI – Sydney.
Our goal in this series is to give you some educated directions to focus on, although we don’t yet have clear information from Google (or Bing) on where we should focus. Based on what we know and how the first interactions are going, we believe we see some interesting focus points for SEO.
So, why should you prepare for Google Bard? We expect it to change SEO significantly, and the first reactions and usage have already shown current vulnerabilities and challenges. Additionally, it will change the way we approach the Google search engine, both for personal use as well as for business. Being one of the first to be relevant and reap the benefits of being mentioned in the chat results can provide you with valuable first data and performance. Taking the next step earlier than your competitors can set you apart.
Google Bard: A Quick Overview
Before we dive into the awesome SEO content, let’s first discuss some information on Google Bard. Google Bard is a new algorithm that uses LaMDa and LLM, and is expected to bring significant changes to the world of SEO. One of the key differences between Google Bard and its predecessor is that it uses a smaller model than GPT, which could mean different SEO requirements from Google than Bing. The smaller model is more economically viable because less processing power is needed per chat prompt. We will also share our opinion on the first results and provide some visual examples of Google Bard results. Unlike Bing AI Sydney, Google Bard does not include footnotes.
The introduction of Google Bard by Google was not without its challenges, as the preview caused a stock crash. This vulnerability hints at why we believe this will change SEO, and Bing has faced similar problems in the past. One key point to keep in mind is that we expect both Google and Bing to focus more on truth and ask for more guidance on relevant content on a page and facts.
As for when Google Bard will be fully launched, it remains unclear, although some first users have already been allowed to test it. Sundar, Google’s CEO, asked its employees to focus 4 hours a week to help optimize Google Bard, which shows the importance of Bard and this direction. However, it may be later than previously expected, given the recent escapades of Sydney and the introduction of Bard by Google, both of which give Google and Microsoft some first user feedback that a bad robot could damage their reputation drastically. Remember the Nazi/Racist Microsoft bot?
